View Full Version : IF I WAS INVISIBLE
Er.
I'm probably a little behind here, but what the hell happened to the avatars? :(
Also, while I'm here in this goofy little HALP section, I'd like to bring something else up.
Can't we just put all the kingdom forums into the archives, since they really don't have a purpose anymore?

Now you're making me think of that Beatles song. xD
Anyway, the avatar options were screwed up since the latest update to the database, and the update also seems to have affected some other options on the forums. I'll have to consult other Councillors and Carriage Engineers to fix this problem.
I thought that it might be good to let the kingdom forums be where they are so that people can quickly access them and check various details out (e.g. individual maps, city information etc.) instead of having to go to the archives section. In case we end up with some crucial information about the new world or if there are questions about the countries themselves, then the kingdom forums would be a preferable place to post additional, country-specific maps etc.
So unless there's some serious objections, I'd rather keep the kingdom forums where they are for future use. If you'd rather have the kingdom forums in the archives section, though, just comment here.
Removing the Kingdom fora and the heading for them entirely would serve to sleeken the board's look. You may as well, Koss. The world shall not end for cleaning up now-defunct parts.

Woah, who's this guy?

The avatars screwed up with the last set of vB updates because the default style set is not fully compatible with it anymore. I have bugged Daniel in the past to come back and edit the templates to fix it, but it has not yet been done (and I have no idea what to do in order to fix it myself).
Didn't we used to have a Quick Reply at one point, too? ;o
And yeah, especially after browsing tGA on a lower resolution than I'm used to...I really think it'd be a good idea to move the Kingdom forums to the archives. It just looks silly to have a big chunk of inactive forums right in the middle of the index. If you're worried about people needing the individual kingdom maps, Koss, you could always just move those particular threads to Crossroads or Quest.

Yeah, I agree. I'll let Kossage do it so he can keep any threads that he wants moved to Crossroads (or I'll just move all of it to Archives tomorrow).

The subjunctive mood, always weak in English, has been dwindling away for centuries until it has almost vanished. According to traditional thought, statements about the conditional future such as “If I were a carpenter . . .” require the subjunctive “were”; but “was” is certainly much more common. Still, if you want to impress those in the know with your usage, use “were.” The same goes for other pronouns: “you,” “she,” “he,” and “it.” In the case of the plural pronouns “we” and “they” the form “was” is definitely nonstandard, of course, because it is a singular form.
Just thought you should know. :D
Tell that to the person who wrote the song, dolt. *bops*
I said, "Babe, what is the deal? You're noticing all these other chicks. Maybe...you're a lesbian."
She looks at me and says, "I wish I was a lesbian."
Now at that point, I wanted to say, "You mean you wish you WERE a lesbian because grammatically...but I let it slide. I didn't want to ruffle any feathers."
Holy avatars and Quick Reply, Batman!
Was that you, DannyBoB? <3

Yeah, I've been bugging Daniel to look at it for a good year or so, but actually got him to look at it today. :p
Reverting the template to fix Quick Reply has inserted a random 1 cm space between posts now, however, which has apparently completely perplexed him. He's currently working on that.

Tbh, the 1 cm gap doesn't bother me at all. Much better to have that then no quick reply or avi's xP

Looks like I'll have to stop using the Crazy Bleysie style now, it's still broken.

If I can figure out how to do so without blowing up the forums, I'll try to make the changes go over to the CB style, too.

Nah, I was just proving that it's still possible to whine about something once you've fixed the real issue.
If I cared, I'd have offered to fix it myself.
