Q. What is an ORPG?
A. An ORPG is an Online Role-Playing Game. In a case such as tGA, it is a message board where we have characters and role-play a fantasy world.
Q. What do I do first?
A. First, you read the rules posted in the Crossroads forum. Then you make up a character and create a profile for him/her(see Profiles thread also in Crossroads).
Q. What can my character be?
A. For a class(fighter, mage, etc.) see the Rules. For races, your character, for now, can either be human, elf, half-elf, or dwarf. Dark elves and dark dwarves are just exiles of those races and not really a whole different race. This list of races will be added to in the future.
Q. Where do I go to RP(Role-Play) my character?
A. There are two different places: Crossroads or Quest. Crossroads is where the main world-plot that Council devices takes place. The Quest forum is for OOC discussion and mini-RPs created by the members, completely seperate from the Crossroads plot(or even, possibly, from the tGA world).
Q. What is the Council I keep hearing about?
A. The Council is, basically, the administrators of the forums. You may see us with various custom titles under our board names, but we'll typically have "Council" somewhere in our titles or signatures(after our posts). See the Staff section on this website for a list of the Council members.
Q. What do the admins(or other various staff members, such as moderators) do?
A. The administrators that make up the Council work with the actual RPing aspect of tGA and also continually work to maintain the forums and website. The moderators, however, are a sole-RPing aid. Both admins and mods keep a close eye on all RPing threads to make sure there is no "god-moding", spamming, etc.
Q. What are Carriage Engineers?
A. Carriage Engineers are technical administrators in charge of keeping tGA up-and-running. They are not authorities for the RP or the board in general, but if you have a technical issue, these are the ones to PM/email. You can see a list of Carriage Engineers on the Forum Leaders page.
Q. What is "god-moding" exactly?
A. God-moding is a term for an RPer that abuses an honor-system such as the one tGA has. For example, having a beginning mage that can level cities and massacre armies is an example of god-moding. Any first- and second-offence god-moders will be warned. Further god-moding may result in suspension/ban.
Q. How do I become a moderator/Council member?
A. Council has a "don't call us, we'll call you" policy. If we feel the need for more Staff, we'll pick a member who we think will be appropriate for the position. Any requests for Council-/mod-ship will be frowned upon.
Q. How come some people(Council, mods, certain members) can god-mod and I can't?
A. Council, and anyone we give permission to(i.e. moderators), have the right to do anything to further the story. That may involve having a character start out more powerful than others, etc. Members that whine as a result of this will be drawn and quartered.
Q. How can I get help in the RP?
A. You can do one of two things:
1. Email a Council member- see the Staff page on this website or click "Contact Administrator" on the forums page.
2. Post a thread in the "Feedback-Help" forum. This enables you to get help from other members and moderators as well, not just an administrator.

Q. Should Reno be avoided?

Reno should be avoided all the time.
